Our First General Meeting
On April 27 at Our Lady of Fatima, Seattle Serra held its first annual meeting. We began with Mass, and after that, Father Bryan Dolejsi gave a detailed rundown on what he does as vocation director for the Archdiocese of Seattle. He highlighted ways in which the Serra Clubs have assisted him and suggested some other ways we could help.
Ken Christie, president of the Cascade Serra Club, which is at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in Mill Creek, gave an inspiring summary of the many activities they are doing. Harry Coveny suggested directrions in which our club will be moving.
Priests Appreciation Dinner
We held our Priests Appreciation Dinner on April 11 in the evening, before the Chrism Mass at Saint James Cathedral.
This was one of our most successful events! It was a priests-only dinner, so we greeted each of the priests as they arrived, but we didn't join them for dinner. As they left we got lots of thanks and hopes that we'll do it again year!.
On June 26, we served lunch to the young men who came to Quo Vadis Days at Camp Don Bosco to discern vocations. We also had the opportunity to join them at Mass.
The annual Seminarians Lunch was at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton on June 29. The Cascade Club were the hosts. Father Dolejsi was there to introduce the seminarians and to give us an update.
Our final summer event was the Serra BBQ at Our Lady of Fatima on August 24. Our special guest was seminarian Brody Stewart, who is studying at Mount Angel.
